Rodrick James, C-Man Coffee aka “Coffeeman” is a dynamic entrepreneur and the leading pop-up coffee vendor in the DFW area. After serving eight years in the U.S. Army and a successful 28-year career as an Executive Chef, Rodrick transitioned into the coffee business, founding Canal Coffee in 2016. He quickly expanded to multiple locations, becoming the first minority owner of a coffee shop in Shreveport’s Diamond Jacks Casino. His ventures have been recognized in the U.S. Congress and highlighted by media outlets like Shoutout DFW and VoyageDallas.

Despite setbacks, including losing his food truck business to Hurricane Laura, Rodrick’s resilience led him to Dallas, where he launched a unique pop-up coffee experience. Serving everything from espresso to frozen lemonades, Rodrick is known for his energy, customer service, and community involvement. He gave back 25% of his earnings at school events and supports youth through mentorship and pay-it-forward programs.

Rodrick has been featured at various events across DFW and continues to expand his brand with future plans for franchising.
